November is here already and there’s certain to be some fireworks going off at CMS HQ!
This is our very first monthly blog round-up of all the exciting things that are going on at Creative Media Skills, from blog posts to courses, partnerships to news. This is where you’ll find us in a nutshell for the coming month ahead, where we like to to tell you what we’re up to and what you can make the most of from us.
We’ll begin with our fantastic new courses coming in November…
Hair – Victorian Women
This is a five day intensive course into Victorian hairdressing to set you up on those period productions. This is a course we keep flexible on purpose so we can tailor it to the requirements of the participants on the course at any one time. That means you just have to let us know which areas you’d like to focus on when you book! It will be tutored by the fabulous Lou Sheppard. More details here.
Makeup – Facial Hair Workshop
Learn the art of knotted facial hair application and laying on loose hair in this intensive three day course, tutored by the highly experienced and respected film stalwarts, Ken Lintott and Polly Earnshaw. Learn old school techniques which are highly sought after and teaching can be difficult to come by. More details here.
You might be aware that our brand new shiny website now has its own blog (of course you do – you’re here already!), but did you know we’re featuring some especially exciting posts this coming month? Last month we had our Q&A with Downton Abbey hair stylist Adam James Phillips about his time perfecting the wave, and this month we’re going to be featuring exclusive interviews with none other than actor Noel Clarke and legendary film director Bill Forsyth! We’ll keep you posted about when they go live.
We’re also delighted to have one of our talented and successful participants, film/TV hair and makeup artist Anita Anderson, blogging on our behalf for the Creative Skillset website. She talks about a week in the life of one of our courses after she attended the Perfecting the Wave course in Salford in October. We’ll be posting links so keep an eye out.
In the press: Becoming the story
We’ve been talking to Broadcast magazine about an article involving the West London Triangle, which we’re thrilled to be part of! Watch this space for more details on what it’s all about in November.
Did we mention the interview with our very own CEO Ailie Smith last month? If you didn’t see it, here’s a link to her Club WorkSpace Q&A, where she featured telling all about her inspiration behind Creative Media Skills and where it’s heading.
We have teamed up with one of our media partners, BECTU, to bring you a limited time offer – meaning you can save 10% for all bookings that are running between now and the end of January 2015!
