Coronavirus: latest update 24th June 2020

Following our communication regarding the progress with our response to the Covid-19 situation.

We want to reassure you that we intend to run all courses that have been effected by Covid-19 or may be effected by Covid in the coming months.

So please note that all courses are currently paused, until we contact you to inform you otherwise.

This means that if you have a course that is due to start in June / July / August, we advise that at this stage, the course will not run on the designated date. All other courses that are due to run from September are currently, tentatively, going ahead as planned but this could change.

Is the Creative Media Skills Studio accessible to short course participants?

We are still responding to the constant changing and evolving government advice, meaning that we are still working hard behind the scenes on planning, strategy and implementing all the relevant H&S changes to the building.

What happens next?

We now have a backlog of courses affected from the start of lockdown way back in March – to support our planning strategy we want to empower YOU and ask YOU, our customers, what availability best suits you.

How are we going to do this?

In the coming weeks, we will be contacting each of you with a survey to ask for your thoughts and to try to gage the best dates to re-run our courses.

Once we receive the responses from your surveys, our team will work tirelessly to ensure that we can release new course dates to you all, as soon as reasonably possible. We hope that we can cater to as many requests as possible.

What is our overall aim?

For our customers to be able to safely attend a course within the next 18 months.

We will re-run our courses over the next 18 months, meaning that customers can pick from a range of course dates which will best suit their availability. Customers reserve the right to swap courses of the equivalent value, if they wish to do so.

What happens next?

We again want to thank you all for being patient with us as we try to manage the effects of Covid on our business. We have every intention of making sure we deliver our traing to our customers.

Please be patient with us in the next few weeks and expect to receive a survey for your feedback.

In the meantime, please see the below guidance which was sent in the email on the 5th of June, 2020.

A brief look into what the Covid-19 customer strategy might mean for you:

  • If your course has not happened yet – the dates may change. This is based on Covid-19 restrictions in place and on us planning to give you the least effected experience as possible.
  • New course dates will be released to cover the next 18 months.
  • You may use your current booking credit and swap it for the same course or an alternative course of equal value over the next 18 months.
  • Depending on content – some courses may move online, whilst others may be a mixed blend of online learning and in person learning, others will remain in studio with the relevant H&S considerations.
  • Where courses move 100% online only, customers will be given one free admittance to one of our CMS “industry events” over the next 18 months.
  • Where courses move online – This may mean that the original course durations may be altered to support online training more effectively. E.G Shorter learning days spread over a lengthened duration.
  • Models:
  1. Where using models are deemed as essential by CMS as part of the training course, these courses are likely to be scheduled for later in the year / early next year, with the view that Covid-19 will have significantly reduced in risk.
  2. Where using models are deemed as not an essential part of the training course – alternative modelling options will be used in a hierarchical order of risk
  3. e.g. participants doing task on themselves; use of training heads (hair); participants taking turns to complete task on each other; participants may bring a member from the same household to model.

Following this initial guidance, each course will have its own specific alterations and safety measures. You will therefore receive a course specific email in the coming weeks to understand how we have adapted your training course specifically for you.
